When does the season start and end?
Our season begins in mid-April and ends in July. Teams participating Provincials will play into July.
NOTE: Player evaluations (for team formation) will begin March 2019 (Novice-Midget).
Where do games and practices take place?
We are members of the GELC (Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council). Team practices take place in Strathcona County. Games are scheduled at facilities in Strathcona County, Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, St. Albert, Spruce Grove/Stony Plain, and (for select teams) Westlock.
What days of the week/times will my child play?
Except in the Mini-Tyke and Tyke divisions, games are not scheduled for 'set' days or times. Our game schedule is set by the GELC at the start of the season. For Mini-Tyke and Tyke, games generally will fall on a week night, in the early evening, at locations closest to 'home'. The schedule for the 2019 season will be set once registration numbers determine how many teams can be formed.
Can I request to have my child placed on a particular team?
We do not take requests for player placement novice and higher. However, we still receive numerous requests every year for players to be placed on teams with specific players/coaches. We make every effort to form fair, balanced teams based on the number of registrations we receive and the skill level of players involved.
How do I pay the registration fees?
Cheques can be made payable to the Sherwood Park Titans and remitted to
#2080, 61 Broadway Blvd, Sherwood Park, AB T8H 2C1. Fees must be received by March 2, 2019.
Refund /Cancellation Policy:
Any player who withdraws, for any reason, from the association will be charged a cancellation/administration fee of $35.00. In addition, refunds will be pro-rated from the date of first floor time. As per SPTLA regulations, no refunds will be issued after May 1st for any reason.
Registration Payment Options:
Only cash, cheque payments and online credit card payments are accepted.
Registration payments must be received by March 2, 2019. Cheques may not be dated past March 2, 2019. Payments after this date will be subject to a late payment penalty of an additional $50.
No player is considered registered until payment is received in full. For insurance purposes, no player is allowed on the floor if payment has not been received.
Registrations may still be accepted after March 2, 2019, space permitting. Late fees will apply.
On receipt of an NSF cheque, the registrar and/or treasurer will attempt to collect the funds owing, through any reasonable means. The amount collected shall include the registration fee and the NSF/bank charge of $25.
