No Experience? No Worries!

It's not uncommon for kids to start learning and to experience success in lacrosse at any of our age groups.

What to Expect

Lacrosse game play and strategies are very close to both basketball, hockey and ringette. If you're looking for a fast paced, exciting sport there's no doubt that lacrosse is for you.

Multi Sport Athletes are what modern sports education is recommending!

Players and Boundaries:

  • Lacrosse is set up for players to join clubs according to boundaries provided by the GELC (Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council) and the ALA (Alberta Lacrosse Association).
  • Titans club boundaries include players from Sherwood Park and Strathcona County.
  • We have mixed divisions of U7 and U9.
  • We have separate divisions for U11, U13, U15 and U17.
  • Players must register in their club according to their current address and location.
  • Please check our registration tab for more information.

Games and League

Games are played mainly in hockey rinks after the ice has been removed in the spring, with some games on fields with turf surfaces.

The season begins mid April and continues through until the end of June. Then Provincials (for U13-U17) continue until the 2nd week of July.

The Sherwood Park Titans Lacrosse Association is a member of the Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council (GELC) and their information can be found on their website: www.gelc.ab.ca

The GELC is responsible for the administration of lacrosse programming for Edmonton and surrounding areas. The GELC schedules all of our games.

Participating Communities : These are the other clubs that we play in league play.

Communities that participate in league play are the Beaumont Raiders, Fort Saskatchewan Rebels, Leduc Crush, North Edmonton Wizards, Parkland Posse, Sherwood Park Titans, South Edmonton Warriors, St. Albert Rams, West Edmonton Blues, and Westlock Rock. Associate members from Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray may also be participating at the U9 through U17 levels, resulting in weekend games in the schedule against these teams.

Drop in Lacrosse

What is a drop in lacrosse event? It is where you can bring your player to come learn about lacrosse.  We have coaches running the events, they will run drills and fun games to teach players of all levels about the game of lacrosse. They are usually 1 hour in length and full equipment is required so coaches can run drills. We offer Drop in Lacrosse events pre-season for players to come try it and for returning players to stay active.

The sessions are posted on our website and currently cost $7/$25 for a 5 punch pass. This usually begin in January and continue until March. If you are brand new to lacrosse, it is a good idea to email the Division Director or the drop in coordinator to see if they have extra sticks they can bring to use at a drop in.

The Sherwood Park Titans proudly support's Women's Box Lacrosse

The Titans are one of the few clubs in the GELC that field women's teams at all levels (from U11 to U17).

We co-host a women's only tournament, Rock the North, in May 2024 and had much success with this tournament's success in its inaugural year, 2023. We are extremely proud of continued success of our women's teams.

Lacrosse Opportunities

For those with post secondary interests, lacrosse can lead to scholarship opportunities throughout the US and even international competition in girls field lacrosse.

Girls with box lacrosse experience often excel and are sought after for girls field lacrosse.
