Season Division Info and Scheduling 2026

The Sherwood Park Titans Association is a member of the Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council (GELC). The GELC is our Local Governing Body (LGB) and is governed by the Alberta Lacrosse Association (ALA). Information about the GELC can be found at: www.gelc.ab.ca and information about the ALA can be found at: www.albertalacrosse.com

The GELC is responsible for the administration of lacrosse programs for Edmonton and surrounding areas and is responsible for scheduling all of our games: GELC 2026 Season Information

Communities that participate in league play are the Beaumont Raiders, Fort Saskatchewan Rebels, Leduc Crush, North Edmonton Wizards, Parkland Posse, Sherwood Park Titans, South Edmonton Warriors, St. Albert Rams, West Edmonton Blues, and Westlock Rock.

To accommodate teams from Westlock, there may be some weekend games in the schedule against these teams.

The 'A' teams in U13, U15 and U17 and also play against Red Deer, resulting in some travel for games in Red Deer (weekday and/or weekend).

There will be travel for league play, for female lacrosse, to Central Alberta on some weekends.

You must reside within the boundaries for the Sherwood Park Titans Box Lacrosse Club, to play for Sherwood Park Titans.

As we all try to navigate life and schedules the question of “when will my kids play” always comes up. Unfortunately this is not an easy question to answer in Sherwood Park. The GELC has guidelines on their website, which only apply to Edmonton rinks, and the GELC books those floors for the city clubs. Outside of Edmonton each municipality provides floor allocation. We are tied by this allocation and have floors to use at the County’s discretion.

Below are some generic points and common situations, however, beyond this, until we have teams made and floors secure each year, the specifics can change

TRYOUTS/EVALUATIONS:

  • Updated Evaluation Policy for 2026 - check back soon!
  • ‘A’ level tryouts for U13-U17 are typically 3-6 sessions, which usually start the beginning of February and run until the end of the month.
    • Please visit the the 'A' Teams Information tab for detailed information, along with your U13, U15 or U17 respective Division Homepages.
  • 'B' level and Parity team evaluations usually run mid March until the start of pre-season.
    • This is for U9, U11A-C, U13B-C, U15B-C, U17B and all Female Divisions (U11-U17). Please see your Division Homepage for detailed information and evaluation schedules.
  • There are no evaluations for U7.

PRE SEASON:

  • Pre-season usually starts 2-3 weeks before the season so teams have a few practices before their first game
  • Regular season games usually being mid April
  • All teams will practice 1-2 times per week during preseason on weekdays
  • All teams can be given shared floor times where each team is provided half the playing surface with the area in between the rag lines typically being a neutral zone. We try to have the same age group on the floor but when this cannot happen the disparity is typically only one division up or down.

REGULAR SEASON:

  • The regular lacrosse season usually runs from mid April until the end of June
  • ALL PRACTICES are 1 hour, sometimes 1.5 hours for U15 and U17
    • Except in U7 and U9, practices are not scheduled for 'set' days.
  • U7-U13 GAMES are 1 hour
  • U15-U17 GAMES are 1.5 hours
  • Games are scheduled by the GELC at the start of the season.
  • The schedule for the season will be set once registration numbers determine how many teams can be formed, and when the ice comes out of the hockey rinks that we are allowed to play in.
  • Depending on the division and team there may also be weekend play for other tournaments a team/coach chooses to enter.
