Updated Evaluation Policy for 2026

Dec. 30, 2025

We are pleased to share our revised Evaluation Policy that was ratified by the Titans Board December 22, 2025.

This updated policy was developed by the Evaluation Committee, formed last season with a broad representation from our membership. Revisions were made based on feedback received directly from members, and we strongly encourage all members to read the document in full to understand how all evaluations and team formation will be conducted.

Key updates and areas to note include:

  • Formal creation of an Evaluation Committee each season to ensure the policy is followed and to oversee key stages of tryouts and evaluations

  • Clear and direct language addressing conflicts of interest

  • Updated scoring matrices

  • Clearly defined evaluation processes for each age division and tier:

  • Attendance requirements for ‘A’ tryouts and ‘B’ evaluations, including:

    • Minimum attendance expectations and outcomes if requirements are not met

    • An evaluation exemption request process for extenuating circumstances

  • Use of evaluation software for tryouts, evaluations, and team formation

  • Increased number of evaluation sessions for U11, 'B'/'C' divisions, and Female divisions.

  • Team formation for B, C, and parity teams will now be overseen by the Evaluation Committee rather than solely by the Division Director

  • Inclusion of the GELC 2026 Tiering Chart

  • Clear guidelines for the ‘A’ Coach Selection Panel (U13-U17)

  • Formation of a Coach Selection Committee for all other head coach selections

  • A defined appeals process

  • Commitment to annual membership feedback on evaluations and tryouts

Evaluation Committee Volunteers Needed

With the new Evaluation Policy in place, we are seeking three (3) volunteers from our membership to serve on the Evaluation Committee for the 2026 season.

Time commitment includes availability for:

  • U13-U17 ‘A’ tryouts in February

  • 'B'/'C' and female evaluations in March

Committee members will work with the Evaluation Coordinator and President, as outlined in Section 2a of the Evaluation Policy.

If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please contact:
evaluations@sherwoodparktitans.ca with president@sherwoodparktitans.ca in copy.

The Evaluation Coordinator and President, along with one additional Executive Board Member, will review and select committee members as outlined in the policy.
